Spotlight Employee: Nichole!
Meet Closing Paralegal, Nichole Pouler who has been at Res/Title for the past 8 years. Passionate about teamwork and growing here at Res/Title, she’s an asset to our closing team and the main point of contact for many parties involved in a transaction.
Nichole’s career began in a data-entry heavy position. When transitioning to Res/Title, she applied these skills to her role in multiple departments. She’s worked her way up to the Closing Paralegal position and is eager to grow and learn more.
“A day in my job is BUSY. Files are always moving through the pipeline,” Nichole said, “My goal is to always make sure the process is as seamless as possible for all parties involved.”
Bethany Rose’s Story
Nichole is the reason for our fundraiser. Her family is actively involved in the BRC Memorial Foundation, which was founded by Bethany's uncle, Brian Verria. Bethany passed away at age 16 to a rare form of cancer. Her death followed the loss of her father, an important family friend and coach to Nichole.
Nicole explains her family and the Cyr daughters were extremely close and similar in age.
“Endless hours of softball.” Nichole said. “Bethany Rose was my younger sister’s age. Their friendship meant she often slept over, traveled to far away tournaments with us. Bethany was a spitfire. Funny. Kind. Sassy. Always fun to have around.”
Nichole watched Bethany’s family struggle. Her care caused her Mom time out of work, and many bills that needed to be addressed. The need to create a wheelchair accessible bathroom was urgent.
“Bethany’s illness made many family members and friends aware of the hardships that families with young children with cancer face in addition to the medical needs,” said Nichole.
The community worked together to fundraise for Bethany Rose, but unfortunately a cure was not found for the young girl.
“Many local families who have children who have been touched by this terrible disease have been recipients of monetary donations from the foundation that allows them to address unmet needs and hopefully relieve a small piece of stress,” said Nichole. “Roof repairs. Home refits. Food. Everyone’s need is different yet necessary.”
The charity began with a 5k walk in Bethany’s memory at Roger Williams Park, and has grown to include a Golf Tournament, Comedy Night and more.
“My family remains active in supporting fundraisers and events. Our friendships remain strong and keep the memory of Bethany Rose Cyr alive.”
Nichole’s favorite part of her job is the close group we have here at Res/Title. She enjoys the high level of team work and feels rewarded once the team completes a successful closing.
“I am lucky enough to work for a company that has a great group of employees that are not just my coworkers but I would also consider my friends,” she explained. “Everyone is important and plays a role in getting the file from Point A to Point B.”
Outside of Res/Title, Nichole is a devoted mom who can be found at her daughter’s softball game or with her son’s soccer team. She’s recently celebrating 15 years of marriage and is heading to Mexico to celebrate.
