Foundation Update!

The Foundation had a very successful 2016 and 2017. We were able to help Marik, who is a young teenager from Connecticut that is battling Osteosarcoma for a third time. His needs were assessed and a donation was made. Marik was fortunate enough to meet The Rock, Dwayne Johnson. Not only did he meet him, he actually got to be on the set while he was filming his hit series.

Mary's Children's Wishes were also a recipient of our help. Their organization fulfills wishes for children who are battling a sickness, much like a Wish Come True does. We asked that our donation support a family with children's cancer.

We helped Kelly Memoli's family, a wife and mother who passed away to cancer. She left two beautiful young boys Domenic and Owen. We helped make their Christmas a little brighter.

Kaydin, was a baby who was battling a rare form of Leukemia. We saw the despicable story on the evening news that a fundraiser was held to support his family and someone allegedly stole the money that was raised right out of the hospital room while he was sleeping. We stepped in and helped the family. Sadly, Kaydin gained his angel wings in March.

Tyler Seddon, is a six-year old battling Leukemia for the second time. He is from Burrillville and you may remember him because he had asked for birthday cards and a parade, and people from around the world responded with overwhelming support by sending him cards. His other wish was to be Police Chief for the day, so the Burrillville Police Department made him Chief for the day and police and firefighters from around the country came and he led a parade around town. How special!

The beautiful Ava was also a recipient of help from the Foundation. She was diagnosed with SMA (Spinal Muscular Atrophy) at just three months old and many thought surviving would be out of the question; however, Ava went on to live until she was four years old. She loved to listen to music, watch TV and be with family and friends.

Ronald McDonald House has received multiple donations from the Foundation to help families who have a child fighting against cancer.

Hasbro Children's Hospital has received multiple donations from the Foundation to help families who have a child with cancer or other pediatric illnesses.

Now we add a new chapter to the Foundation, we are happy to announce the Bethany Rose Cyr Memorial Foundation Scholarship Fund was awarded in May of 2018 to Frank Faiola, a student at Tollgate High School who has humanitarian asperations and is academically inclined.

Frank, a seventeen-year old High School student survived Osteosarcoma. He now has college aspirations and we are in the process of trying to help.

As another year comes to an end, in the spirit of Bethany, please consider giving a donation to the Foundation that will help us continue to meet our goals of helping more families in need. You can go on our safe and secure website brcmemorialfoundation.com to donate or mail a check to the address listed below.
